FILIBUSTA FAN PALM
(washingtonia filibusta)

HOUSTON'S TRUSTED SOURCE FOR FILIBUSTA FAN PALMS
The Filibusta Fan Palm is a hybrid fan palm, also known as the Washingtonia Filibusta (Unofficial Scientific Name).
Filibusta Fan Palm is a Hybrid cross between Washingtonia Robusta & Washingtonia Filifera Fan Palms. These hybrids feature a thicker trunk, heavier green fan leaves, & a more moderate growth rate. Filibustas are considered superior to both the Robusta or Filifera varieties, in part due to their cold-weather hardiness.
The Filibusta Fan Palm is unique in that it was cultivated in Indio, California. The Filibusta now resides in the Arecaceae family. The palm can now be found in Texas, California, Arizona, southern Nevada, as well as other regions with a suitable climate.
The Filibusta will continue to become more common in the landscape, eventually replacing the California Fan Palm and the Mexican Fan Palm.
This palm tree makes a beautiful addition to any home office or landscape. It provides a tropical "feel" with little cost.
